Install CtrlTMS

Installing CtrlTMS is the standard M-Files Admin procedure. What is specific to CtrlTMS is what has to be true afterwards before it finds anything.

Before you start

• The CtrlTMS .mfappx file and its .lic licence file.
• Administrative access to the vault through M-Files Admin.
• An agreed window for a vault restart.

Steps

1. Install the application, following Install a vault application and selecting the CtrlTMS .mfappx file.

2. Apply the licence, following Install a vault application licence.

   Without a valid licence CtrlTMS installs and its configuration opens, but nothing runs.

3. Close the Applications dialog and let the vault restart.

The restart is what starts the application

A vault application only begins running after the vault restarts, and the restart only starts once the Applications dialog is closed. Leaving the dialog open produces an installation that looks complete and does nothing.

Check

Reopen Applications for the vault. CtrlTMS should be listed, with no error against it, and its configuration should be visible under the vault’s Applications node in M-Files Admin.

At this point CtrlTMS still has no credentials and no vault structure to write into, so it will report a configuration error. That is expected until the next two steps are done.
