List view
A List view renders an existing M-Files view as a table. The view’s columns, sorting and search conditions carry over, so the place to change what appears is the view itself, in M-Files Admin.
What the module adds is the presentation: paging, a search pane that filters as you type, grouping, a configurable double-click action, and export to the clipboard or Excel. Use it wherever a user currently has to leave the object they are looking at to browse related objects.
A list can also be edited like a spreadsheet: text, numbers, dates, yes/no values and lookups, saved together with the usual check-out and check-in. This is off by default. Turn on Allow editing for each list that should offer the Edit button and the cell editors. A cell is editable only where the user may edit that object and that property, and automatic and read-only properties stay read-only.

The title shown above the list. Default: one generated from the view.

Show create button
Whether the list shows its + New button. Default: yes.
Allow editing
Lets users edit cells in the list - text, numbers, dates, yes/no and lookups, several cells at once, saved in one batch. Off by default: an Edit button on a list is an invitation to change data, and not every list is meant as one. M-Files permissions apply either way; this only decides whether the list offers editing at all. View folders and other non-object rows are never editable. Default: no.
Paging
Enable paging for the list view. The page length determines how many items are displayed per page. Default: yes.
Searching
Enable searching for the list view. Default: yes.
Page length
Number of items to display per page. Default: 10.
Page length menu
Show page length menu, allowing users to select the number of items to display per page. Default: yes.
Horizontal scroll
Show every column with a horizontal scrollbar instead of collapsing narrow columns behind a +/- control. Off by default to keep existing lists unchanged. Default: no.
Group by type
When using a grouped view, this setting controls how the grouping value is determined. • Current Object – Uses the current object as the grouping value. For example, if viewing projects grouped by customer, and the current object is a customer, its projects are retrieved. • Lookup Property – Uses a property on the current object to determine the grouping value. For example, a property on a customer could be used to retrieve items from a view grouped by that property's value. • Current User Account – Uses the logged-in user's account as the grouping value. For example, retrieving projects from a view grouped by project owner. • Current Employee Object – Same as Current User Account, but uses the employee object associated with the logged-in user instead. Default: Current Object.

Group view by property

The lookup property to group the view by. If there are multiple lookups in the property, all grouping levels are checked and retrieved.
