A feature-rich release that adds live preview, clearer sharing roles and a dedicated OneDrive workspace, alongside significant security, performance and administration improvements.
Highlights
Section titled “Highlights”- Live preview of OneDrive documents. Users can now preview a co-authored document directly, without having to fully check it out.
- Dedicated OneDrive workspace per vault. Documents are now checked out into a dedicated, per-vault folder in OneDrive, keeping co-authored content organized and isolated by vault.
- Clearer sharing roles — Viewer & Editor. The “Reader” and “Writer” sharing roles have been renamed to the more intuitive Viewer and Editor.
Features
Section titled “Features”- Flexible role mapping. Multiple metadata properties can now be mapped to the Viewer and Editor roles, giving administrators fine-grained control over how collaborators are assigned.
- New command icons. Refreshed iconography for the OneDrive co-authoring commands.
- Richer administration experience. Added descriptive labels, inline help text and localization throughout the configuration, making CtrlShare easier to set up in the M-Files Admin tool.
- Branded, localized dialogs. Co-authoring windows now carry clear product branding and are fully localized.
Security & licensing
Section titled “Security & licensing”- Authorization hardening. Correctness, safety and authorization improvements across the backend.
- Consistent licence enforcement. Check-out is now correctly gated on both a valid licence and whitelist membership, with licence-group seat enforcement applied consistently — while check-in and sharing remain available where appropriate so in-progress work is never blocked.
Improvements
Section titled “Improvements”- Reliable large-file uploads. Fixed OneDrive upload chunking so that large documents check out dependably.
- Faster operations. People and permission lookups are now cached per request, speeding up sharing and check-out.
- Clearer error messages. More detailed, helpful responses across check-out and undo check-out.
- Older-client parity. The interface for older M-Files clients was updated to match the new dialogs and localization, so all users get a consistent experience.
