Components

A component is the thing a user actually looks at: a form, a list, a chart, a calendar. You place components inside structural parts, which control where they sit and how wide they are.

In M-Files Admin every component is a segment whose Type you set. Choosing the type changes which other settings apply, which is why each one has its own page here rather than one long table.

FormConfigure the CtrlPortals Form module — an editable metadata card laid out in columns, rows and collapsible groups, with conditional fields.

MenuConfigure the CtrlPortals Menu module — tabs inside one segment, each holding its own modules, so a portal can carry more than fits on a screen.

HTMLConfigure the CtrlPortals HTML module — custom markup placed on a portal, with property values from the current M-Files object substituted into it.

Markdown editorConfigure the CtrlPortals Markdown editor module, which edits a multi-line text property as formatted Markdown with a live preview.

List viewConfigure the CtrlPortals List view module — an M-Files view rendered as a filterable, sortable table with paging, grouping and export.

Plot view (deprecated)Deprecated: use Plot for new work. The CtrlPortals Plot view component, deprecated in favour of Plot. Existing charts keep working; this is the reference for the ones that still use it.

PlotConfigure the CtrlPortals Plot module — charts built from M-Files objects or a SQL data source, with multiple traces and axes.

CalendarConfigure the CtrlPortals Calendar module — event types, business hours, view modes and drag-and-drop editing — and its settings reference.

CommentsConfigure the CtrlPortals Comments module — threaded comments on an object, with replies and editing where a Comment object type exists.

Workflow stepsConfigure the CtrlPortals Workflow steps module, which shows where the current object sits in its M-Files workflow as a row of steps.

Multi viewConfigure the CtrlPortals Multi view module — one dataset the user can switch between a list, a calendar, a kanban board and a gantt chart.
